First Dell Adamo XPS Profile Photos: OK, That’s Like Disgustingly Thin [Laptops]

So that’s what the Dell Adamo XPS, a 9.99 mm thin laptop, looks like from the side. Evokes the words “hypodermic,” “stab” and “scissors,” doesn’t it?

It’s also apparent the laptop’s undercarriage (which holds the keyboard) folds up into a recess where the screen is. Freaky. But I like it.

MacBook Pro Shocking the Crap Out of This Poor Reader [Broken]

Giz reader Nicholas has a little problem with his MacBook Pro: It’s shocking the crap out of him. It “sparks right at the bottom center of the trackpad.” But Apple Geniuses tell him it’s actually just fine.
While it’s possible Nicholas is just building up static and shocking himself, he says it happens “everywhere,” and that [...]

Nokia Booklet 3G Hands On: Nice Netbook, But How Much? [Nokia Booklet 3g]

The Nokia Booklet 3G has touched down on US soil. The cell phone manufacturer’s first laptop is made of sturdy stuff and is mobile broadband/SIM-card friendly. I’d buy one if the price is right. But chances are it’s not.
I’ve got to say for a company that has never made a computer before the Booklet 3G [...]

Best of Smartphone Experts, 11 Oct 2009

Last week was the CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment conference. We had coverage at a few of our sites, but Kevin Michaluk and I also sat down with Mickey Papillon of The Cell Phone Junkie to record a podcast about our thoughts on the event – worth checking out. Here’s what [...]

Hard Graft’s U MacBook Sleeve Has Actual Style [Accessories]

The big draw of the U MacBook sleeve is its external, two-segmented pocket for an iPod, phone, small notebook or whatever, but I’m more impressed by the understated style of the thing. My current black neoprene case suddenly feels so…middle-school.
Made of grey wool, dark leather and herringbone-patterned elastic, it’s the first sleeve I’ve seen that [...]

HP Envy 15 Beats Edition: Okay, I Actually Am Sorta Jealous Now [Notebooks]

Boomin’. That’s the Beats edition of HP’s Core i7-powered Envy 15, which doesn’t look like a MacBook wannabe but its own glossy-black-and-red man. The privilege, and included Beats headphones, add $500, but it’s kinda worth it. [HP via Electronista]

Sony Vaio X: World’s Lightest Laptop $1300 (Actually Affordable, For a Vaio) [Sony]

Sony’s X comes out from its dark hiding spot. Not only is the 11-inch carbon fiber notebook super slim, but it’s actually affordable on the Sony scale of economy, starting at $1,300. (Update: It’s got netbook guts.)
Considering that it’s cheaper than the MacBook Air or Dell Adamo, and that Sony’s netbook was $500, that’s pretty [...]

Think You Have the Crappiest PC in America? [Crappy]

We don’t usually care about other people’s contests, but Technologizer has a smart one to find out who has the crappiest PC in America. Oh, and there’s a prize.
It’s the HP envy 13. To enter, just head on over here and follow the rules. We’re working together with Technologizer so that we’ll be able to [...]

Gaudy Laptops? You Have Not SEEN Gaudy Laptops [Dell]

Oh come on, Dell! Right after you show this amazing looking Adamo XPS you tell us you have made this ridiculous Bergdorf Goodman Adamo? The diamond snake adornment is twice as thick as the laptop, not to mention costs 5K.

Yeaaaaa. So you won’t be able to buy it and it will only be auctioned off, [...]

Dell Adamo XPS First Look: So Thin It Could Slice a MacBook Air in Half [Dell]

We’ve seen it teased, but now we’ve seen it in real life. No real details, but it is really effin thin, like it could slice a MacBook Air in half. And a belly shot, even closer:
